Thermography
Thermography
Everything in the known universe has an emissivity level. Thermography cameras are designed to identify that value, which is a bandwidth of light, and translate it into an image that we humans can interpret into variations of heat. In other words, the cameras cannot see clearly through a sheet of paper, much less walls or panel covers. There must be direct line of sight from the camera to the items being observed.
Thermography is a very useful tool in preventative maintenance of any facility, but only if the operator has the experience to know how to use the tool effectively. This service can identify potential hot spots, loose connections, overloaded circuits, radiator/chiller temperature deltas and much more. This invaluable service should be an integral part of every maintenance program.
